James Michael Bankhead begins to carve a new wood sculpture, Challenger
Following a 22-year career in the United States Air Force, 2½ years in arts management, and 21 years in academic leadership positions, James Michael Bankhead found himself enjoying working with wood making rather interesting sculptures. This new adventure was a complete departure from the kinds of things he had done most of his life – mostly in music or music-related activities.
We are delighted to welcome you to our Follow-The-Grain website with a gallery of the various sizes and shapes of carving artworks he has created. The recent adventure in seeking beauty while collaborating with Mother Nature in the final work of art has become a passion that has consumed a great deal of his time.
The Gallery contains multiple photos of many of Mike's exquisite sculptures. Enjoy the viewing adventure!
